World Water Day – 22 March 2017

world water day

It’s World Water Day!

Did you know? Around the world, one of the most common causes of death is thirst and infected water. Water is a commodity we must share with everyone, especially the poor.

After a hot, long day or activity, there is nothing more refreshing than a long drink of fresh, cool water. It simply is unbeatable! Still the best thirst quencher.

March 22nd, every year, is World Water Day. We simply must become better water stewards. I always thought how very lovely and world changing it will be when we each adopt the three b’s! Three living beings: one human being, one animal being and one tree being! And we make sure that our three b’s are weekly or monthly being cared for with love, a fresh water drink and a meal. To save a life is actually that simple and all it needs is commitment.

Thanks to a very generous anonymous donor, we will be able to bless old souls with fresh, pure drinking water this World Water Day. They will be able to drink deeply and long to replenish their weary souls. Hope will be restored. Where? Right here in Gauteng! Many don’t have access to running water and delivered if they are fortunate, old and stale water. This will be a new experience of an era long forgotten, now to be remembered. It will be such joy!

Every time you drink, wash, flush or cook – give thanks. You are very privileged.

My Lord says: “Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won’t lose a thing.” Matthew 10:42 from ‘The Message.” By Eugene H. Peterson

“The best helping hand you’ll ever find is at the end of your own hand. (Origin unknown).
